If you enjoy helping others and speaking to groups, you could be a speaker/educator for Iowa SMP. Help seniors learn how to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse of Medicare and Medicaid. Educate them in personal security issues as well.
Qualifications: Volunteers should be comfortable with speaking to groups and interested in community education.

Volunteers who want to work with the elderly and homebound- you can make a difference in your community. Select the amount of time you have available. Your interests and skills will be matched with someone who needs just a little assistance in order to live independently in their own home. Volunteer opportunities can include (but are not limited to) friendly visiting and transportation to church, doctor's office, etc. Training provided.
Qualifications: You must enjoy working with people, be dependable, and willing to participate in training as needed.
